Power out again!!

Hey Mom,
So power has been out again. I guess that they are having problems with
their dam. The water in Lake Volta is evaporating fast so they are
conserving water by not running the dam.  The week was less exciting.
and we didn't find anything out about the guy on the bike. But the fufu
was great!
I got Grandma Kathy's package and Grandma and Grandpa's letter. Tell
them thank you. I'll write back soon.
So me and Kebbi are doing better. I can get him to talk if I find the
right subject. We are able to teach a lot better now too . At first he
would go off on some weird things but weve worked it out and now we're
working together a lot better.
Man Jeff! Hawaii! He got really lucky. And were going to have tons of
missionaries out. It's going to be sweet. I'll get to come home and see
tons of people come back. That will be awesome.
So the area 70  thing was pretty sweet. I didn't get an interview but he was
cool. He talked a lot about getting out and talking to people.
Something that I still need to work on a little. ummm... I can't
remember last week at all. Sorry their has been to many big things in
between. I cant think that far. Sorry. But it will be better this
week.
Soooo im going to stop here and send this before the power goes out
again. But I love you and I'll talk to you next week.
love,
Trevin

Crazy week in Mankessim

Hey Mom,
Yep 6 months! I'm almost done!!! Haha  it's going by faster then I
thought that it would sooooo itll be over in no time! So sorry I
haven't written the power was out in Mankessim until yesterday evening
and we came to email and it went out again half way through this
email. so now I'm back sorry.
So Elder Kebbi doesn't talk much. I try to get him to talk so most of
the time its pretty quiet. I know he's the youngest of three. They
spoke a kinda weird language in his part of of the country. And he
loves rice and plantain. Everyday rice and plantain. But thats all I
really know. but its not to bad. We get along good and don't have any
problems. Our branch is bigger. Its big enough to become a ward but
they are kinda having problems paying tithing right now so they have to
wait. Right now we don't have hardly any investigators. The missionary
that Kebbi was with before me didn't want to work at all. So we go out
and contact everyday. I'm just trying to get some people together to
teach. We've found some so were doing ok right now. It's hard and its
not very fun but I'll get through it.
So this week has been pretty crazy. A lot of things happened this
week. First on tuesday we had district meeting, and half way through
district meeting Kebbi remembered that he had left the stove on while
cooking some yam. Haha our district meetings are an hour away. The
yams in the pot had started fire. But someone broke through our back
door and put it out. Kebbi has to pay for a new door. So our apartment
almost burnt down this week. Then friday we gave an investigator a
baptismal date. His name is Isaac. He has gone through a couple sets
of missionaries and a few baptismal dates. So well see if he comes
through for us. Then on Sunday.....this is the crazy story..... we
went to Salt Pond a village in our area. A member was cooking us a
meal so we went over. We were helping her cook and pounding fufu and
then outside her house we heard this crash. 2 guys on a motorcycle
had crashed outside her house. They lost control of the bike somehow
and had crashed in the gutter and had flipped out. So we went out the
gate to see if everyone was ok. They weren't. When they went into the
gutter their legs got caught in between the edge of the gutter and the
bike. It took one guys leg off and broke the other guys in three
different places. Everyone outside was standing there watching and
screaming but they weren't trying to help them at all. Me and Elder Hunt
wanted to go and help them but no one would let us get near them. So
we stopped a couple of taxis and they picked them up and went to the
hospital. It was crazy it didnt look real it was kinda like watching a
movie. Not being able to do anything but wanting to. But that was the
end of our crazy week. Haha Mankessim is the place that everything
happens. I'm going to have an exciting stay here.
I got both of your packages yesterday. Thank you!!! love you. They
were awesome. Haha and I said a knife like Jarens not Jarens. Hahaha
but thank you. Thanks Jaren! I also got my scriptures that I ordered
in December. They are sweet I'm glad I ordered them.
Cool I didnt know for sure if Micheal was still going. And thats a
crazy mission. Mandrin chinese speaking in Canada! What?!?!
Well I don't have anything else this week. I'm doing fine and the works
moving.....slowly....but its moving. So I'll talk to you on
monday.....or tueseday....we are having a mission tour with Prez.
Dixson of the area 70 on Monday so p day might be on Tuesday. But
thats it. I love you!!!
love,
Trevin
